Bone Marrow Bourbon Cocktail
A rich and savory twist on a classic cocktail, featuring bourbon fat-washed with roasted beef marrow for a deep, umami flavor profile.
Ingredients
- 4 Beef Marrow Bones (split lengthwise; roasted)
- 500 ml Bourbon or Whiskey (used for infusion; Woodford Reserve recommended)
- ½ Simple Syrup
- 3 Orange Bitters (dashes)
- 1 Ice Cube (large cube preferred)
- 1 Orange (peel for expression)
- 2 Bourbon or Whiskey (bone marrow infused bourbon)
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

Place the beef marrow bones on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 20 minutes.

Carefully scrape the warm marrow out of the bones and into a heat-safe glass container.

Pour 500ml of bourbon over the marrow. Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator for 24 hours to infuse and allow the fat to solidify.

After 24 hours, strain the bourbon through a coffee filter and a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bottle or jar.

In a cocktail glass, combine 1/2 oz of simple syrup and 3 dashes of orange bitters.

Add a large ice cube to the glass.

Pour 2 oz of the bone marrow-infused bourbon into the glass.
