Homemade English Muffins

Ingredients
- ½ cup Milk
- ¾ cup Water (warm)
- 1 tsp Honey (or sugar; to taste)
- 1 tsp Yeast (instant)
- 2 tbsp Butter (melted)
- 2¼ cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Table Salt
- 1 Cornmeal (for dusting)
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine warm milk, warm water, honey (or sugar), and yeast.

Add melted butter, flour, and salt. Mix until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.

Knead for 5–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise about 1 hour or until doubled.

Divide dough into 8 pieces. Roll into balls and flatten slightly into thick discs.

Place on a cornmeal-dusted baking sheet and sprinkle tops with cornmeal.

Cover and let rise 20–30 minutes.

Cook on a skillet or griddle over low–medium low heat for 6–8 minutes per side, covered, until golden and cooked through.

Let cool completely, then split with a fork for classic nooks and crannies.
