Pasteli (Greek Sesame Honey Bars)
A traditional Greek honey and sesame bar that is incredibly easy to make with only two main ingredients. It's naturally gluten-free and dairy-free.
Ingredients
- 8 oz Sesame Seeds (toasted until golden brown)
- 8 oz Honey (boiled to 260°F)
Instructions

Place the sesame seeds in a pan over medium heat and toast them, stirring frequently, until they reach a golden brown color.

Remove the toasted sesame seeds from the pan and set them aside in a bowl.

In the same pan, add the honey and bring it to a boil. Use a candy thermometer to ensure the honey reaches 260°F (127°C).

Once the honey reaches the correct temperature, add the toasted sesame seeds back into the pan and mix thoroughly until well combined.

Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish (optionally lined with parchment paper) and press it down firmly into an even layer using a spatula.

Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature until it has fully hardened.

Once hardened, remove from the pan and cut into rectangular bars.
